Dr. Peggy Brewer PsyD, EMDR

Senior Clinician

Dr. Brewer provides a wealth of knowledge and experience to the clinical team at Driftwood Recovery. Her education being solely focused on counseling and psychology has allowed her to experience helping people at many levels of care. From private practice, behavioral interventions, and eating disorder treatment, to being the Clinical Director for The Refuge for Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking; Dr. Brewer has taken to the front lines of making sure people receive the help they deserve.

Dr. Brewer was also the Project Manager for the Austin Police Department EMDR Research Project. Being the daughter of an Officer, this project has become her passion. The research project utilizes multiple sessions of EMDR with active duty officers hoping to decrease the use of their firearms. Dr. Brewer remains motivated to continue their research based on the improvements they are beginning to see.

As a part of the Driftwood clinical team, Dr. Brewer serves as a primary therapist while also providing group therapy. She is motivated by the belief that there is hope for a better life for every individual.

When she's not at Driftwood, she loves spending time with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Sherman, sailing and riding bikes.
